Happy new Year in Wonderland and neverending Tomorrows!

Nehmen wir mal an die Welt wäre eine Bühne, eine Showkulisse und alle Figuren nur Akteure. Wie würdest Du leben wollen, wenn Du Dir Deinen ureigenen Traum einfach kreiren könntest? Was wäre das Setting? Wer würdest Du darin gerne sein?

Jetzt zu Beginn des neuen Jahres ist es sehr passend für sich selbst mal wieder zu überprüfen, was man mit ins neue Jahr nehmen möchte und was eventuell auch getrost über Bord geworfen werden sollte. Seien es nun Dinge im Aussen, irgendwelche Gegenstände, Handlungen, Verhaltensweisen oder innere Gewohnheiten.

Unsere Überzeugungen bestimmen unser Leben und es ist mehr möglich, als Du denkst…

„Down the Rabbit Hole“ kommen wir ins Wunderland. Aber das erfordert auch den Mut offen fürs Mysterium zu sein. Sich mehr Verantwortung zuzugestehen im Leben, ist nämlich oftmals nicht die angenehmere Realität und das Problem dabei ist, dass vorallem auch die vielen unbewussten Glaubenssätze und Muster da munter mit manifestieren. Also gilt es diese erstmal aufzuspüren und sich darüber bewusst zu werden, wer man wirklich ist und was man wirklich will vom Leben!

Im Wunderland sind Träume möglich. Ich wünsche Euch ein wundervolles, erfolgreiches und gesundes neues Jahr 2018, indem Ihr ganz nah bei Euch und einem fantastisch lebendigen Leben seid… ❤

Passend zum Thema Wunderland möchte ich Euch einen neuen Club vorstellen, der vor einigen Wochen in Köln eröffnet hat und sich mit seinem fantastischen surrealistischen Style genau dem Thema Wunderland gewidmet hat.

Das Tomorrows!

Ich war beim Opening Event dabei und jede Woche bietet uns die Partyreihe „Follow the white Rabbit“ die Möglichkeit genau in diese Traumwelt einzusteigen. Es ist wirklich schräg und schnell ist unklar wo oben oder unten ist und ob die Lampen und Tische an der Decke hängen oder ich gerade diejenige bin, die hier Kopf steht.

Das Motto ist fantastisch und jede Woche sind verschiedene Künstler und Performer dabei, die das Motto dort bestens repräsentieren und Glitzer verstreuen. Anbei ein paar Bilder von mir, dem Hasen und weiteren…

Heute ist der 31. Oktober. Das Fest der Toten beginnt oder auch anders bekannt und in den letzten Jahren ist der Konsumhype auch immer mehr nach Deutschland geschwappt – happy Halloween…

Dabei ist die Tradition uralt und geht auf das keltische Neujahrsfest Samhain zurück, was ich persönlich auch seit vielen vielen Jahren in dieser ursprünglichen paganen Tradition so begehe und für mich auch diese Bedeutung hat.

Es heißt, die Schleier zur Anderswelt seien dünn in dieser Nacht und es ist leicht zu verstorbenen Ahnen und zum Jenseits Kontakt aufzunehmen. Auf dieser Tatsache begründen sich im Grunde alle Traditionen, die diesen Tag oder diese Tage als besonders ansehen und ich finde wirklich bezeichnend, dass sich in sovielen Kulturen auf unterschiedlichste Weise damit beschäftigt wird.

Die Katholiken feiern Allerheiligen und ehren die Gräber auch am Vorabend und entzünden ein ganzes Lichtermeer. Die Protestanten nach Martin Luther haben ihren Reformationstag darauf gelegt. In Mexiko wird traditionell bis zum 2. November Tag der Toten (Dia de los Muertos) gefeiert. Es heißt, dass die Toten an diesem Tage auferstehen und den sinnlichen Vergnügungen nachgehen. Dazu werden Süßigkeiten verteilt mit verzierten Totenköpfen (Sugarskulls).

Halloween ist heute etwas dem Konsumhype verfallen, hat aber in seinem ursprünglichen Sinne heute noch am meisten mit dem heidnischen Glauben zu tun. Samhain ist das dritte Erntedank-Fest im Jahreskreis. Die Kürbisse symbolisieren auch in gewisser Weise den Erntereichtum. Kürbissuppen werden gekocht und ausgehöhlt und Fratzen reingeschnitzt um die Geister zu vertreiben, da Jenseits und Diesseits nun kaum getrennt sind…

Auch ist es der Beginn der ganz dunklen Jahreszeit, wo nun die letzte Ernte getragen und entgültig alles stirbt und sich ins Innerste zurückzieht. Die ersten Lampen und Lichter werden nun aufgestellt, um die bevorstehende Finsternis zu überstehen. Der ausgehöhlte Kürbis mit Kerze wird auch Jack o´Lantern genannt.

Egal wie Ihr das Fest auch begehen möget. Es ist Zeit sich der Ahnen zu erinnern und ihnen zu gedenken und wenn der Tod sich so nah dem Leben zeigt, gibt er auch immer einen Hinweis darauf und ermahnt uns, ob Du Dein Leben samt Deinen ureigenen Werten, Bedürfnissen und Wünschen so authentisch lebst, dass Du eines Tages erfüllt sterben kannst…. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Today is the 31st of October. The Day of the dead begins or otherwise known and during the last years the consumption hype has also captured more and more Germany – happy Halloween…

Besides, the tradition is ancient and goes back to the Celtic New Years Tradition Samhain. In this traditional pagan way I celebrate it since many many years.

It means, the veils to the other worlds are thinly at this night and it is easy to contact our forefathers. On this fact found themselves basically all traditions which are celebrating this nights in which way ever…

The Catholics celebrate All Saints‘ Day and honour the graves also in this eve and light a whole sea of lights. The Luther Protestants have laid their Reformationday on it. In Mexico the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is celebrated traditionally up to the 2nd of November. It means that the dead people rise on this day and follow the sensuous pleasure. In addition sweets are distributed with Sugarskulls.

Today Halloween has fall for the consumption hype a little bit, but it has in his original sense mostly in common with the pagan faith. Samhain is the third Thanksgiving Day in the wheel of the year. The pumpkins also symbolise in certain manner the harvest wealth. Pumpkins are hollowed out to cook Pumpkin Soups or similar.

Also it is the beginning of the quite dark season, where everything withdraws back into it´s deepest core. Now the first lamps and lights are put up to get over the forthcoming darkness. The hollow pumpkin with candle is also called Jack o’Lantern.

No matter how you are going to celebrate this night. It´s time to remember our forefatheres and when death is so near besides Life, it gives us the opportunity to overthink our inner values and requierements to change and to live our Life in our most authentic way…. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

„Oh, Marisha“ Fashionshow at the Cologne Cathedral

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to run for „Oh, Marisha“ in one of her fantastic costumes for the exhibition opening at the „Galerie Art Café am Kölner Dom“. It was a blast. The wonderful Photoartist Kira Hagen Photography has supported the whole event and has worked out beautiful results from all models in front of the Cologne Cathedral.

I have worn a fantastic golden gown with a beautiful fish tail and the little diva inside of me came really out. I am so in love with the wonderful pictures Kira made of me.

Marisha has started to implement her dreamy creative ideas and the first steps into sewing very early. She calls herself a Costumier Fantazier – 

„Marisha is a seamstress and designer, antique collectress, a scholar of fashion history, former participant of TV show „Project Runway“ and overall a girl with one foot stuck in a fairytale world of the past“ (more).

I had a little Interview with her about her work. So have a view:

When you were introduced at the Exhibition Opening as an artist / designer, was said, that you have sewn your first clothes already from the curtains of your mother. Maybe you may tell us something about your way, the beginnings and your development up to now?

Yes, I accidentally switched channels on tv and saw some scenes of a movie I didn’t know but the girls wore such incredible dresses with tiny waists, giant long dome-like skirts and it was so magical, so beautiful! As a child, I did not understand or know much about that time period in history, neither I understood the movie, but I just couldn’t stop daydreaming about those dresses. Being a very visual person, I instantly recognized the print on Scarlett’s iconic bbq dress – it was that of my mother’s kitchen curtains! I had to make that dress for my Barbie… and then the one Scarlett wore in the first scene, one with white ruffles and red belt… With time, I learnt how to sew on my grandmother’s old Singer machine, she taught me how to prepare patterns, treat the seams, make buttonholes… To me, playing with dolls was to create dresses for them, change their outfits, make their furniture and decorate their interiors. Years later, when we found WGT festival, Mera Luna and local gothic clubs with special dress code, I started sewing and modifying clothes for myself and my friends. At the time I lived in Finland and couldn’t afford real fabrics, so was mostly sourcing materials from second stores and fleamarkets, and guess what?! – it was always either curtains, or upholstery leftovers or even bed sheets! I couldn’t afford a sewing machine, so early costumes were sewn partly by hand and partly on my friend Molla’s machine, whenever I had the chance to visit her. So sewing out of curtains and household fabrics was with me all along the way, and even now too!


Your works are all seeming to tell their own nostalgic and dark-romantic stories. What does it mean for you?

I like to imagine each dress as a character with a story… What if Scarlett O’Hara was in soviet army, what would her crinoline dress look like in green camo print and red stars? Or an elegant lady of the Belle Epoque but all stained in tea and her dress is actually made of table cloths… It’s this mix of something strange and often dark or even horror, together with beauty of historical fashion. I live in that world of twisted fairytales and beautiful but inadequate clothes.


How would you describe your style and where is it reflected in your daily life?

What I create is all historically-inspired, and with time it also crawled into my own wardrobe. When I first discovered romantic goth subculture, it was a wonderful escape and excuse into wearing strange „unfashionable“ things that felt right for the time I wished to live in. With time, this style evolved and now it is a mix of neo-retro elements, my goth-punk past and femininity of the past. I am costumier-fantasier and my daily wear is exactly that!


Your works are exhibited at the „Galerie Art Café am Kölner Dom“ now, till when is it possible to admire your costumes there? 

The exhibition is now prolonged until 13th of September, so you still have a chance to see! The Art Galerie also has a lovely cafe, so it is a very cozy place to be in!

Morgen ist es soweit, ich sitze schon fast gespannt auf dem gepackten Köfferchen off from Cologne to Leipzig, wo im nahe gelegenen Schloss Trebsen das Firebirds Festival veranstaltet wird… Ein rundum fantastisches und spannendes Event, das jede Menge zu bieten hat von Freitag bis Sonntag Abend.

Tolle Bands, tolle Workshops, Carshows und Fashion & Vintage Market, um nur einiges zu nennen , was auf dem ROCK´N´ROLL WEEKENDER die Vintageherzen höher schlagen lässt.

Für mich wird es nun besonders spannend am Samstag Nachmittag im MODEZELT, wenn die Vorentscheidung der Wahl zur Miss Vintage Flaneur 2017 getroffen wird. Das entgültige Finale findet dann am Sonntag auf der Südbühne statt.

Das Tolle, die großartige Retro Boutique Top Vintage sponsert das Event sowohl mit einem kompletten Tagesoutfit, wie auch mit einem Abendoutfit für die letzten drei Finalistinnen. Das hieß also für mich zwei komplette Outfits zusammen stellen samt Accessoires. Die eigenen Stylingkünste und persönliche Fashiongeschmack fließen dann jeweils in die Bewertungen mit ein. Ich denke, ich hab auch zwei tolle Styles zusammen gestellt, die zu meinem Typ passen und mir stehen. Das hoffe ich zumindest, anprobieren, kann ich meine Auswahl erst vor Ort… 😉

Seid gespannt was ich mir ausgesucht habe, ich kann es Euch leider noch nicht verraten, aber ich werde Euch zeitaktuell über Facebook und Instagram auf dem Laufenden halten am Wochenende…

Eines kann ich jedenfalls sagen, sich zu entscheiden, war nicht einfach. Man möchte am liebsten alle Outfits ausprobieren und die ganze Retro Boutique Top Vintage leer kaufen. Es lohnt sich auf alle Fälle mal dort zu stöbern… 😉

Hier mal ein Beispiel für ein glamouröses Abendoutfit im 20ies Style auf meiner Facebook Seite, für das ich mich fast entschieden hätte… 😉

Am 24. November 2016 habe ich in Amsterdam am „Walk like Marilyn“ Contest der Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam sponsored by Top Vintage Retro Boutique und Madame Tussauds teilgenommen. Das war nicht nur ein besonderes Erlebnis, sondern bedeutete mir auch persönlich außerordentlich viel, da Marilyn Monroe mich seit dem Jugendalter wirklich stark geprägt und beeinflusst hat. Sie war meine erste große Liebe, mein Idol und Vorbild. Die Wände meines Mädchenzimmers waren komplett tapeziert von Postern von ihr und James Dean, meine zweite große Liebe, den ich am liebsten geheiratet hätte, wenn er nicht bereits verstorben gewesen wäre… 😉 Jeden Schnipsel habe ich von den beiden Stars gesammelt und ausgeschnitten, jeden Film bis ins Detail studiert.

Da ich nach der Trennung meiner Eltern beim Vater aufwuchs, war es für mich mit 13 Jahren sehr wichtig mich an einer weiblichen Rolle zu orientieren. Wen hätte ich mir da Besseres aussuchen können, als die Meisterin der Weiblichkeit – Miss Monroe, die mich lehrte, was es heißt eine Frau zu sein. Ich habe nicht nur fast all ihre Filme auswendig gekannt, ich hatte auch all ihre Bewegungen eingeübt, ihre Art zu reden bis sie irgendwann so verinnerlicht wurden von mir, dass sie in Fleisch und Blut übergingen.

Ich denke, diese Vorgeschichte spielt eine große Rolle dabei, dass ich später als Burlesque Tänzerin und Retro Pin Up Model den Weg in dieses Feeling der Zeit zurückfand.

Der Contest „Walk like Marilyn“ fand zeitgleich zur Ausstellung „90 Jahre Marilyn“ in der Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam statt. Umso beeindruckender war es für mich authentische Filmkostüme, wie beispielsweise das berühmte weiße Kleid und weitere Requisiten von ihr dort ausgestellt zu sehen. Auch tatsächlich von ihr getragene falsche Wimpern sowie Auszüge aus ihrem Tagebuch waren dort zu bewundern.

Auch wenn ich den ersten Platz an diesem Tag leider nicht belegt habe, war es ein Erlebnis und eine Ehre für mich dort in dieser Rolle gegen, ich glaube insgesamt 13 bezaubernde Kandidatinnen unter ihnen u.a. auch professionelle niederländische Marilyn Doubles, anzutreten.

On the 24th of November, 2016 I have participated at the „Walk like Marilyn“ contest of the Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam sponsored by Top Vintage Retro Boutique and Madame Tussauds. This meant to me a lot, because Marilyn Monroe has influenced me strongly since my childhood. She really was my first love and my big idol. The walls of my girl’s room were completely wallpapered by posters of her and James Dean too. I have collected every scrap from both stars and have studied every film in every detail.

After the divorce of my parents, I grew up with my father and it really was very important for me to have a female example for my adult orientation. Who should be better for it, than Miss Monroe – a female Godess?

I think, this prehistory means a lot with the fact that I found the way into Burlesque Dancing and Retro / Pin Up modeling later.

The contest „Walk like Marilyn“ took place at the same time to the exhibition „90 years of Marilyn“ in the Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. The more impressively it was for me to see her authentic film costumes, like the famous white dress and other equipment of her there issued. Also authentic wrong eyelashes as well as extracts from her diary were to be admired there.

Even if I have not won the first place unfortunately, it was a pleasure for me to run with all this beautiful Ladies and between professional Dutch Marilyn Doubles this day… ❤
